september celebrations
September is here, and I’m on a roll with these monthly blogs! This month features two very important celebrations: Taylor’s 28th birthday, and our first wedding anniversary! Today’s also the first day of fall, and while it’s currently a bit gloomy, I’m looking forward to more pumpkin spice and cozy vibes.
For Taylor’s birthday, a bunch of our friends gathered at North Point State Park for a barbecue, swim, & fellowship. We surprised Taylor and his friend Reid, whose birthday is also in mid September, with cake, and finished the day by going to Fogo de Chao for a scrumptious dinner. (That cheesy bread is my fave!)
It was a gorgeous day, and as an added bonus: Maurice had a great time romping in the grass!
The weekend after, Taylor and I celebrated our ~first~ wedding anniversary by going to Antrim 1844, a beautiful historic estate turned hotel about an hour from Baltimore. We stayed in the cottage, just to the right of the main mansion.
Thanks to their seasonal package, we got a bottle of wine, and a three-hour-loug six course meal!
Though our stay was short, we also had time to swim in the incredible pool (well, I swam), played badminton (my first time!), and had yet another cake, this time thanks to the talented SugarBakers (see above), who made our initial wedding cake as well.
I was sad we didn’t get to stay longer, but this just means we’ll have to make a return trip! (Mostly for that pool. I mean did you see it?)
We finished the weekend off by going across states lines to Gettysburg, visiting the museum and battlefield there. Take a peek at a few last /aesthetic/ images below, and look forward to the next post!
(P.S. I loved how Baltimore St was such a prominent road in both Taneytown, where the hotel was, and Gettysburg.)
