california coast
Almost exactly two years after my last California travel blog, Taylor & I ventured out west yet again! This time, we stayed in Half Moon Bay with his parents, but also explored the rest of the Bay Area: Pescadero, San Jose, took the ferry to Oakland and Alameda, and of course, San Fran.
I used up almost three full rolls of my signature 35mm (Kodak Gold 200), so enjoy a long post!
First off, let’s start with the ~ scenic ~ views of Half Moon Bay:
Love that view of the giant golf ball/ice cream cone that’s really a military base!
But I think my fave images are the ones I took on the shore itself, of surfers on a sunny day:
You can see Ziggy, Taylor’s parents’ dog, enjoying the beach along with everyone else.
That same day, we also strolled by Maverick’s Beach, underneath the cliff side:
Buttt… despite what you’ve seen so far, this trip wasn’t solely dedicated to the water! We also explored the city (San Fran + San Jose), riding on the streetcar, taking the ferry to Oakland/Alameda, and touring the Winchester Mystery House with my sister and nephew. (So still more water, but other stuff too!)
Fun fact: above photo was greenscreened, but the one before of Taylor was not even though it looks like it!
Lastly, here are an assortment of other images taken in Cali! The thing about film is you never know what you are going to get, and sometimes, the random, unexpected shots turn out to be the best ones.
Hope you enjoyed the photos! Some of thee shots are now available in the print shop if you’re interested :)
All in all, a great way to end the summer, and start the school year once more…
