a sunset sail

For Taylor’s birthday this September, I got him an Airbnb sailing experience! He had mentioned how he’d always wanted to go sailing before, so I thought, what better present, and what better view than right downtown in the Inner Harbor?

Of course, our sail that was scheduled on his actual birthday got cancelled due to weather, and our attempt to go the week after also got rained out. This seems to be a recurring pattern with all things birthday-related. Anyway, our third attempt was finally perfect.

Last week, there was hardly a cloud in the sky, and we enjoyed the sail with Steve, our host, and another couple. I had ran out of my usual Kodak Gold film, but managed to find a rare Porta 400 in my drawers. Although the higher ISO wasn’t very helpful earlier on in the trip, it did come in handy when sunset arrived.

Please enjoy these film photos from our sail, perhaps some of my best work yet! I mean these colors! Amazing, right?

There will actual be another October blog soon, because Taylor and I have just finished up our trip to Puerto Rico! I haven’t been back there since 2015, so except lots of beach time, many photos, and some comparisons of old/new work. And… some last minute VERY exciting news after that! Until then!
