an end of summer sunflower engagement
this is a short post, just to say that taylor + I are engaged!!!
we had been waiting to go to the jarrettsville sunflower field for a while, and this past weekend they finally bloomed. we went on the first Saturday that the field was open, so there were enough sunflowers to see, but also some still growing.
I took polaroids + 35mm photos (as per usual),
ate sunflower shaped cookies (yum!!!),
got a sunflower bouquet…
and best of all, taylor asked me to marry him!
it was the perfect + best way to say goodbye to summer and hello to autumn :)
a lot of people have asked me if we have a date yet, and while we don’t, I’m eyeing spring 2021.
the ring is truly one of a kind, having originally belonged to taylor’s grandmother. it was re-set and re-sized to fit me from its original setting, but it’s the same stones + same gold. I’m glad to have something so special & unique!
it also looks great in my succulent ring dish holder I got on etsy.
fun fact: we also went to another sunflower field earlier this month, in Westminster, MD: the sunflower garden.
this was a smaller field, but the farm had larger varieties of sunflowers, and we were able to pick our own to take home!
here are some film photos I took there + at nearby baugher’s orchards, where we picked some delicious honey crisp apples.
can you tell by now that sunflowers are my fave???
and September, which has always been one of my favourite months, is now definitely my fave :)
