nuevo méxico
At the beginning of August, I returned to my home state of New Mexico for a few days.
Throughout my stay, it was all 70s to low 80s and dry dry dry heat.
I loved it.
Even though I'm originally from Taos, I travelled across much of northern New Mexico on this vacation. I did make it down to Taos on the first day to see my parents and have lunch. Then, I went to the hot springs at Ojo Caliente, another favourite.
On the way there, I got some great shots of the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge + friends:
During the second day, I finally got to go to Bandelier National Monument. I can't believe that I hadn't gone before! I got to take in beautiful scenery, go on a short hike, climb up some ladders, and explore some cliff dwellings. This was definitely the highlight of my trip:
At the end of the main trail, there was a section with a 140 foot climb. Although I didn't go up myself, I did get some shots of my friends scaling the cliff side:
That night, I also got to stargaze, which was incredible! Of course, I wasn't able to get any images...
Last, but certainly not least, I spent my third day of this mini-vacation in Santa Fe and the surrounding area. I had lunch at Dr. Field Goods Kitchen. I won $55 at Buffalo Thunder casino. And, for what was certainly not the first time, I enjoyed the beautiful vistas:
All in all, it was a short but sweet trip. Thanks to Dr. and Mrs. Green for hosting us!
