peak cherry blossoms & DC intimate wedding
This is not the New Mexico travel blog you were expecting… but there is still some travel involved, I promise! Unfortunately, my camera decided to malfunction the first day I arrived in New Mexico at the beginning of the month. So I wasn’t able to get a single 35mm photo of the Rocky Mountains!
I was able to figure out the issue thanks to Bellows Lab, but I’m still sad I came all the way to the south west without any scenic photos as proof.
Anyway, later in March I took an impromptu second trip to DC to celebrate my friends Cindy & Mark on their wedding! After getting married at the courthouse, they had a beautiful dinner reception at The Riggs. And I got to take photos of the cake cutting!
Hope they’re having an amazing honeymoon in Grenada!
After the celebrations (and working on Thursday), I was able to take a few hours on Friday to visit the National Mall and see the famed Tidal Basin during peak bloom! Fun fact about cherry blossoms here. I only had a few photos left on my roll, but the ones I did get were stunning.
Plus, a bonus photo of the Washington Monument in all its glory! So glad I was able to take a short, but sweet trip back to my college town. I even finally got to visit the National Museum of American History, and see Dorothy’s ruby slippers.
Here are a few iPhone photos, including one a kind stranger snapped of me. (Also doesn’t my hair look super long!?)
All in all, a great trip! And I still managed to get a travel blog out of it :)
Next up on the agenda: a work trip to NYC! Stay tuned!
