apartment with a view

Another retroactive post because I forgot to take apartment photos! Taylor and I moved to our current apartment at the beginning of October. We wanted to be closer to downtown, and now we are! In fact, our apartment, Parkline, is literally on top of the Brightline train station. Can’t get any more convenient than that!

In addition to the location, the apartment is better in several ways. First up, it’s a little bit bigger than our previous one, and has a den + laundry area. The latter space is perfect for the cats! It also has two dog parks, and although Maurice is less playful than he used to be, he enjoys going down and then back up.

But the ~ best ~ feature is definitely the views. We lucked out and got an apartment on the 41st floor, almost all the way to the top! Here are some images I captured on a particularly foggy day:

As you can tell from the above, Maurice loves going out on the balcony to sun bathe, and he always is trying to get us to come out with him. It works sometimes!

Moving on to another great feature of the apartment: the tub. It’s a room with a view, and I enjoy how light-filled the space is.

The room I’m most proud of, however, is the office. My faux plant matches our futon cover, and makes for a great backdrop to Zoom calls. We added our diplomas to the back wall, and made sure to include Maurice’s Canine Good Citizen certificate too (although it didn’t make it into the photo). Have a sneak peak of Charlemagne too!

Since the move was an adjustment for everyone, we tried to make up for it by getting a humongous cat tree for the kitties. It took some time, but now Napoleon loves sitting on the top, and Charlemagne can often be found nesting in the covered area. (Other times, he can be found on the dining room table.)

All in all, I’ve enjoyed making the place our own, and hanging out in the huge open area filled with light. We have a DC themed bedroom, a Baltimore sitting corner, and, naturally, a train themed office space for Taylor.

Hope you enjoy this sneak peek of our home!
