goodbye 2024, hello 2025

So much has happened this last month, it’s hard to keep track! Although I’ve stopped blogging as frequently, I still wanted to finish off 2024 with a bang — and welcome 2025 as well. It’s been a full four weeks, with Ariadne’s first Christmas, first birthday, and our transatlantic cruise. Let’s get started!

First off, I wanted to share my favourites from our Christmas minis. Thanks SO much to Peach Studios for coming all the way from Toronto to hold these! I love them so. As you can see, Ariadne really got into the Christmas spirit with dancing (she loves music), crawling (she loves moving), and smiling (she’s a very happy baby).

Ariadne had a lovely first Christmas. She now has more toys than she can count, and she loves rotating between her interactive train, animal houses and finger puppets, bilingual nursery rhyme book, and floor piano. We hadn’t gotten a real Christmas tree since we’ve lived in Miami, so it was a great opportunity to do so!

And of course, she had entirely separate presents for her first birthday. We celebrated with balloons, cake, and her first build-a-bear! She has since also gotten at least three other bears, which she loves to hug.

We then welcomed 2025 by heading up to NYC to catch the Queen Mary 2. We went to the American Museum of History and saw the famous Rockefeller Tree. Ariadne braved the cold in her cute white fur coat.

Then we sailed away! It was our first Cunard cruise, and it was a blast. Loved the gala nights almost as much as the scrumptious afternoon tea. We got photographed several times by the amazing photographers on board, which was a bonus!

Last but certainly not least, we got to spend one day in London before flying back to Miami. I made sure to get a sticky toffee pudding, and we found Ariadne’s namesake at the National Gallery. A friend of ours was coincidentally also in town, and it was the perfect day.

Thankfully, Ariadne didn’t have much trouble on the flight back home (her 10th one!). We’re now back and ready to take on 2025.

2024 was the first full year of Ariadne, and one I’ll never forget. The transition to 2025 was equally memorable, and I can’t wait to see what the year has in store for us.
