Introducing my first product review: prose hair!
I recently ordered a second round of hair products from prose, a company that specializes in 100% custom hair care. After filling out a short online survey that asks about your hair style, length, problems, and lifestyle habits, you immediately receive a diagnosis for a hand-picked shampoo, conditioner, and mask that are designed to meet your needs.
I’ve struggled with dry hair and an at-times itchy scalp, but a consultation from prose has resulted in those problems going away after just a few uses. prose products also smell ridiculously good and come in several scents (and no scent).
Plus, in addition to working instantly, I love that prose’s packaging is SO pretty! They even print an overview of your diagnosis on the product labels, as well as your name.
In the black envelope, prose sends a summary of your initial diagnosis and instructions suited to fit your needs and care plan.
My routine is as follows:
Weekly: use the pre-shampoo mask once a week on damp hair, leave in for 30 mins (I do this on Saturdays)
Every 2-3 days: wash hair with shampoo, focusing on scalp (I do this on Mon/Wed/Sat)
After every shampoo: add conditioner to damp hair, focusing on lengths; leave in for 3-5 mins then wash out with cold water
prose products start at $25 per bottle for each part of the routine, and mine cost around $88 total. That’s pretty pricey for hair care, BUT I’ve found it to be SO worth it.
