My boyfriend Taylor works at Embark Aviation, an airline planning and strategy firm that specializes in the management of commercial functions for airlines, private aviation, and resort destinations. The company had its quarterly work offsite trip this past weekend in Charleston, South Carolina, and I got to tag along!
Taylor and I arrived in Charleston early Thursday morning. After getting downtown, we got lunch at Hyman’s Seafood, a place that was recommended to me a few days before.
I got a make-your-own platter of shrimp and crab cake, with a side of french fries. It was delish.
Afterwards, Taylor and I made our way to the AirBnB where everyone stayed for the weekend. It’s called the Charleston Compound and it was huuuuge! It also featured a lot of great amenities and living space.
I can’t emphasize enough how great the food was, but it’s probably apparent by all the food-related images I ultimately ended up taking.
We went to:
Merfi’s for an Italian dinner on Thursday
Bourbon n’ Bubbles after for a round of drinks & desserts
5Church for dinner on Friday
Lowcountry Bistro for brunch on Saturday, where I got to hang out with an old friend!
Everything was delicious:
Throughout the weekend, Embark also had a lot of festive activities planned, such as a White Elephant Christmas gift exchange. Some of the gifts included really neat plane-themed luggage tags, and what Taylor ultimately ended up getting: m&ms and an m&m plane dispenser.
Before we had to return to DC, Taylor and I walked all the way down the main street to see the coast. Plus, I got to admire the many live oak and palm trees on the way!
All in all, it was a great food-filled and fun-filled weekend!
