a stay at the ivy

it’s October- can you believe it!?

the weather is starting to cool, but there’s still just enough sun left to make the days bright.

and……… Taylor & I are married! I can’t wait to share the gorgeous photos by our photographer, but until they’re ready, I’m blogging other news.

this past weekend, we had a short but sweet staycation at the Ivy Hotel, which just so happens to be two blocks from our house. we aren’t planning on taking our official honeymoon until next year, hopefully summer 2021, so this weekend getaway two weeks after the wedding was the perfect placeholder.

on arrival, we were greeted with champagne, and led into the beautiful lobby. SO. MANY. PLANTS!

soon after, we were seated for a delicious afternoon tea- the scones were so good.

and look at all that light! (also check out the wedding ring!)

I now see why being on the corner of the block is such an advantage.

after tea, we played a few rounds of pool, enjoyed the humongous bath tub in the suite, and explored the Ivy’s impressive garden. everything besides dinner/spa treatments are included in the Ivy rate, so we really got to enjoy everything the hotel has to offer! free snacks, wine, movies... it was a whole experience.

the whole building is so lovely, too! (and SO many plants!)

also- just look at that suite! we stayed in room sixteen, but all of the Ivy’s 18 rooms & suites are unique, so if (see: when) we return I definitely want to book a different one.

we ordered room service (how fancy!) and even got to try our hands at making cocktails in the mansion bar!

to top it off, we ended our staycation with a scrumptious breakfast the morning after.

I am definitely hoping to return for a future special occasion… maybe Christmas 2021!?

hope you enjoy the film photos, & stay tuned for a wedding blog soooon!
